BATM signs first international customer for agri-waste treatment solution
New $1.5m contract with a company of a major food manufacturing group in the Philippines
BATM Advanced Communications Limited (LSE: BVC), a leading provider of real-time technologies for networking solutions and medical laboratory systems, announces that it has been awarded a contract by a company that is part of a major food manufacturing group in the Philippines for the Group’s agri-waste treatment solution – representing the Group’s first customer for this solution outside of Israel. The contract is worth approximately $1.5m (€1.33m), with 40% paid on signing. It is expected to be delivered in 2019.
The contract is for the supply and installation of a unit of the Group’s agri-waste treatment solution at a poultry processing facility. Under the terms of the contract, the Group’s proprietary solution, which is based on its Integrated Sterilizer and Shredder technology (“ISS”), will be used in the rendering process, allowing the safe treatment of poultry remains to generate valuable proteins. The advantage of using BATM’s solution is that the treatment of the poultry remains is carried out onsite without the use of any hazardous materials, chemicals or methods and without producing any environmental hazards or damage, including odour.
Dr Zvi Marom, Chief Executive Officer of BATM, said:
“Since the launch of our agri-waste treatment offering, we have received increasing interest from an international clientele who see that it provides a solution to a clear ecological problem.
“We are pleased to be partnering with this major food manufacturer in the provision of our solution and look forward to signing more contracts with other companies in the group during the year.”
