Irit Gillath, VP of Product Line Management, Telco Systems & Dale Knutson, Telecommunication Manager, Mason County PUD Tuesday, August 25, 2009 @ 2:00 pm EDT Real life experience - Putting FTTH Active Ethernet (P2P) to Work The FTTH Council will host a Fiber Community Web Seminar on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 2:00 pm EDT (11:00 am PDT). Description In this webinar Telco Systems will provide an overview of the Active Ethernet technology (P2P) when used in FTTx deployment. The technology will be compared to PON solution, in various deployment scenarios as well as what factors to consider when selecting a technology. The Webinar will provide examples of services that can be supported for both residential and businesses within FTTH deployment. A real life experience will be shared by Dale Knutson Telecommunications Manager for Mason County Public Utility District No. 3 in the State of Washington. Dale manages a County wide Fiber to the Home network which offers wholesale transport to broadband carriers and provides Ethernet speeds of 100 Mbps or Gigabit to the home or office. Presenters Bio Irit Gillath is Telco Systems' Vice President of Product Line Management. She joined Telco Systems after working with companies in the communications and data communications arena that include Qualcomm and NICE. Ms. Gillath holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management and an MBA. Mr. Knutson has more than 20 years of experience in managing and leading technical teams in the deployment of Active Ethernet over fiber projects. Mr. Knutson has served the last 9 years as Telecommunications Manager for Mason County Public Utility District No. 3 in the State of Washington where he manages a county-wide Fiber to the Home network which offers wholesale transport to broadband carriers. Prior to this position, Dale worked as Telecommunications Administrator for the City of Olympia where he managed a municipal fiber network which connected governmental agencies and law enforcement.
